I'll take that as a compliment!

Most every Sunday I go to the local grocery store. I don't really like grocery shopping, but I like the service of getting my groceries taken to my car and unloaded, it's all about the experience if you ask me. So, I shopped, I checked out, the polite boy bagging my groceries said "hi girl" and we proceeded to my car.

This was our conversation as we walked to the car...

Boy-"so did you decide where you are going to college?"

Me-"um, i already went to college"

Boy-"oh you did that thing where you go to college during our senior year"

(Me-before I could even answer he had opened my door and saw both car seats)

Boy-"girl, are you driving your moms car"?

Me-"no, it's my car, i have 2 kids"

Boy-"oh I am sorry Miss (I'm no longer girl) I thought you were a girl i just graduated high school with in May"

Me-"ha ha, i will take that as a compliment, thank you!"

As I was driving off I realized my wedding ring was still over at my parents house from the night before when we had dinner, opps. I guess I was an un wed mother of 2 who looks like a recent high school grad. I'll take that compliment any day!

The kids are much better today. We went to church and they are happy as can be! :)

Lazy day at the Grimes house!

How is it that ear infections are not contagious yet both of my children woke up with one today? Maybe they just both happen to randomly get one, who knows? Jon had to work this morning, and I had the pleasure of taking both ear infection symptom children to the pediatrician...momma was right this time, single ear infection in each baby it is. Today was my first day to pay two co pays at the same dr visit, I am sure it won't be the last. Cade woke up at 3am this morning telling us on the monitor that his ear hurt and would NOT stop crying, so i figured to keep from waking his sister in the next room he could come slumber with us. We did everything but sleep, that is for sure! It hasn't been that long since we've had sleepless hours in the night or interrupted sleep with newborn babies, but man I am not sure who is more tired today...jon or myself? Cade would switch between cuddling up next to me and then want his daddy, and then he would ask for "Tay." That is who he really wanted, and FINALLY at 6 am when he wouldn't stop crying for her we went and woke her up to join the party in our bed. I know it's crazy, we are crazy!

Here are the kids after we came home from the dr. this morning...they were bouncing and playing cars in Cade's bed. My SIL (brooke) will make fun of me for taking my kids to the dr today for their nose on the drip/complain of ear hurting, and fever free (well day 1 of that atleast), but dr said it was early in the infection and their antibiotic should clear in up in a day, yay!! :)

We had a fun week, here are a few pics of my children being cute...

waiting for their daddy to come home from "workt" as cade says
Tatum may be a girly girl, but she loves to play cars with Cade!

loved this outfit on her, thanks Stacey!

Love them!

If I remember correctly i'm pretty sure Tatum pushed him off his chair and he laughed, ha!

Poor Tay needs a girl cousin on Jon's side of the fam!

I can already picture all of them treating her like a queen and probably her being strong enough to hold her own with them too! :)

Fun week with the kiddies! We had planned to take the kids to the water park today, but the ear infections put us hanging at home and laying low. Kinda like that better for today, we ALL needed it!

Have a great weekend! :)

Brother/Sister Play Day!

Today was a brother and sister play day all day, and they LOVED it! :)

We stayed home ALL day and it was great!
I feel like MUCH was accomplished; work is caught up, laundry is caught up and all put away, house is in order, and i cooked a yummy healthy delicious dinner.... and we also had fun!

The kids love days like this....

none of us got ready...

isn't that great...

How sweet is this last picture?!

Yeah it's a little crazy/busy/never a dull/boring/moment, always something to do having these 2 20 months apart, but if I could do it all over again i wouldn't have it any other way. They are so sweet to each other, play SO well together, and love each other so much!

I am so happy, thankful, and beyond blessed!

Great day at home with the children! :)

Weekend Wrap!

We had a SUPER fun weekend away celebrating two of our great friends birthdays!

Happy 29th Birthday to Ryan and Happy 30th Birthday to Kristy! :)

We headed to Shreveport Saturday afternoon with several of our close friends for a fun 24 hours away! Thank you to Mimi and Pops for babysitting our children! :)
Fun weekend with my man!

and my girls!

Happy Birthday Kristy, hope I look this good at the big 3-0! :)

Her motto for her 30's "Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving" I think she's got it! :)

Fun times!

I love this picture because I love that HUGE smile on Jon's face. I am pretty sure most of his pics are a little half smile (b/c he is a typical man and hates pics) or they look like he is in pain (again, hates pics), or he looks bored (for whatever reason), but this pic just looks like he is having a great time, because we really did! :) Love him! :)

I sure couldn't wait to see my babies when we got home, 24 hours away and man oh man how i missed them! :) I am so thankful for our fun lifelong friends and all the fun times we have together!

Yesterday afternoon during the kids naps I napped too. Wow, I can't believe I just said that, or even more that it really happened, and even more that it lasted for 3 hours! Sunday's usually consist of church, lunch with the fam, laundry day, grocery shopping, etc. But none of that happened yesterday and I was ok with that (even if that throws me off a little this week and even if the kids have NO clean jammies, ha)! When Tatum and I woke up we went and met all the ladies in my fam for dinner (missed you brooke and amanda) at Johnny Carinos! We went to celebrate Sarah and all that she has overcome. We went before she went to the hospital for her transplant stay and we said we were going back once she was able to recover. She has come SO far and we are so thankful for every day that God has shown Himself through her sickness. It's not over though. She still needs the daily prayers. Please pray specifically for her liver this week. Her liver counts have been high and are continuing to go up each week. This Thursday she has a liver biopsy to see what is going on. Please pray for that procedure to go well and for Sarah to not feel pain during the process. Also, she has not been feeling well at all, it's constant pain and she just needs a break! Poor girl, it breaks my heart!

We had a fun night together and Sarah enjoyed her dinner, love her so much! :)

Well my friends, I am off to watch the Bachelor. Not sure who my favorite is right now, but JP sure is sweet!

Happy Monday!

Thursday's Thoughts

Super fun day!
Got alot of work done this morning and afternoon during nap times!

Tatum gave me two open mouth slobbery kisses on my lips today on purpose and said "muuuuahhhhh", can't get enought of those sugars!! :)

Went to the waterpark with really great friends and family, had a blast!

Cade said "mamma, thank you for fun at the water" love his manners (most of the time)!

It's 5:30 and my kids are still napping, waterpark makes my babies tired!

Talked to Sarah today after her appt at the clinic, she is not feeling well all the time, but everything is looking like it's supposed to, such great news!

Sporadic family dinner at my parents tonight, love that!

Tomorrow is Friday, really fun weekend planned! :)

Baby "G"

Today we celebrate the life of our unborn first child, our glory baby. Today our sweet baby is three years old. It might be a little weird to some people to celebrate a miscarried 12 week old baby, but not to us. it was our babies life that we will never forget. As Cade and Tatum are growing up it almost makes me more sad to not know our first never know if it was a boy or a girl or what kind of personality he/she had, what life would have been like if he/she would have been born, etc. I remember when we found out we were pregnant with this baby and how we excited we were, we couldn't even wait to tell our parents and our friends. I got a shirt made that said "coming summer 08" to wear to tell everybody our news! I remember the date Jon took me on to celebrate the pregnancy and the doctor appointments to check on the baby. And then January 7, 2008 when my OB confirmed that we lost our baby and the dr coming in my hospital room in the middle of the night to take me to an emergency d&c surgery because I had lost too much blood. I remember not really knowing how to go on with life. I remember thinking why us? Thankfully just 3 months later we were blessed to be pregnant again with Cade, and then 20 months after he was born again with Tatum. God just knows best, there is no other way to say it. He knew that baby needed to be with Him, He knew that Jon and I needed to go through that together, and blessed us with Cade and Tatum for a purpose in this life. Our glory baby will always hold a very special place in our hearts and we want Cade and Tatum to know about their brother/sister. We planted this tree in our yard to remember our first baby! Our God is SO good!

Tatum's First Birthday Party!

Saturday morning was Tatum's First Birthday Party! It was super hot, I think probably 106 degrees, so the swim/ice cream party was a really good idea! Thank you to all of our friends and family that were able to come help us celebrate our little girl! And, a big thank you to my parents for hosting the party at their house, such a great party place! :)
