Pizza delivery for dinner, Christmas music and lots of decorating was on the nights agenda!

The kids couldn't wait to decorate their little trees in their rooms! Thank you mom and dad for these, such a fun thing the kids look forward to each year!!

Thanksgiving 2013

The night before Thanksgiving I was getting pies and sides together to take to Thanksgiving the next day. I came across these pecans in the freezer from papa. He had picked these pecans, shelled them, and bagged up for each grand kid last year. He told me that if I kept them they would last me a while and they sure did. It was a sweet reminder that he is still with us this Thanksgiving, just in a different place. Sure miss him.
I think this bag will always be in my freezer with pecans.....
We had Thanksgiving lunch at Jon's parents house this year. We had a fun time playing and spending time together!

After lunch we took a plate to Mimi and Pops' neighbor...
Tatum was giving great manicures!

We headed over to Nanny's about mid afternoon. Jon got the honor of carving the meat. I know he was nervous to take on this task since it's always been a Papa thing, but he did great and loved helping Nanny in the kitchen.

We had a fun time with all the family. Although it was much different not having Papa this year. You just never know when the last holiday you will have with somebody. We are thankful for all the years he was with us and I am so thankful the kids really knew him. We have lots of great pictures and memories with him. So thankful that Jon and I have made it priority to see all of our family each holiday.

These 3 are something else....they make me laugh with their mom/daughter pics. This was take 4-they approved I could post!!

Nanny has always bought everybody an ornament each year. She gave us ours on Thanksgiving and the kids LOVED it!

About a month ago we didn't know what Thanksgiving really was going to look like this year. I remember when Matt was in ICU wondering if he would still be on life support and we would have Thanksgiving at the hospital or if he would be awake by then. We really didn't know. We are beyond thankful for his life this Thanksgiving. We are thankful for the Lord's protection and healing Matt.
We all have so much to be thankful for. This year saying we are thankful for family has a new meaning to me. With Papa not being here it makes me even more thankful for the grandparents we have and with Matt's accident it makes me appreciate my siblings more and more. When life is good you are thankful for what you have, but when life has been shaken a little you become more thankful-even when you think you couldn't be more thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

"Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the King above all gods"

Dinner at m&d's

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving we randomly decided to have a big family dinner at my parents house. We also called this our immediate fam Thanksgiving celebration! We got Babes to go and had a fab family feast!
We all went around the table and said what we are thankful for. We all have such a thankful heart for Matt's healing, it was pretty much everyone's thankful thing. I love this family, BIG!

Cade's 5th Birthday Party!!!

Can you believe that we just celebrated our little Cade turning FIVE!?!?!
I. Cannot. Believe. It.
It seems like he has been in our lives forever but at the same time I feel like he should still be two years old!
We celebrated Cade's 5th birthday party at Pump It Up! We played and played on all the bounce houses, ate pizza and cupcakes, opened lots of fun presents, and had a great time making memories with our birthday boy!
Jon texted me the afternoon of Cade's party a pic of a ninja turtle shirt....I told him Cade already had one for the party and he responded with "that's for me" ha! I thought it was really sweet he wanted to surprise Cade with him wearing a shirt just like his and for his party. Cade really loved Jon wearing that, such a sweet daddy he has! Well, I guess you can tell it was a ninja turtle them.....ninja seems to be the trend this season and Cade couldn't be MORE into it! :)
Thank you Gigi for making the ninja masks last minute...I mean so last minute that I took her the materials the night before and she made them while she spent the day at Matt's rehab. Thanks gigi- you are the best! :)
Thanks for my friend Court for making the cupcake toppers and holders too-you are a lifesaver. Needless to say November has been somewhat of a blur with Matt's accident and all.
Thank you to all that came and celebrated our boy!
(I didn't take a single pic at the party- I am going to be better at that....so sorry for not capturing everbody that was there)
